About Rasheeda Jones
Joseph Pilates’ three guiding principles were whole body health, whole body commitment, and the breath. At the heart of his method was the belief that mindful movement could bring about “the complete coordination of mind, body and spirit.” Rasheeda is deeply drawn to this philosophy. For her, Pilates is not just about exercise, but about understanding that body work is essential in supporting an integrated sense of wellbeing.
Rasheeda began practising Reformer Pilates after the birth of her child and was immediately drawn to its low-impact yet transformative nature. The work helped her feel stronger, calmer, and more centred during a demanding chapter of life. Inspired by the profound effect Pilates had on her own body, she went on to train with Polestar Pilates, renowned for its evidence-based approach and respect for the original Pilates method.
Her teaching style is clear, thoughtful, and encouraging. Rasheeda previously taught Spanish in schools for 8 years and as a result is a patient and skilled communicator. She values precise instruction and intelligent progression, working closely with each client to support their individual goals. Her sessions are grounded in classical Pilates principles and focus on sustainable, intelligent movement that supports long-term health.
With the versatility of the Reformer and the focus of the 1:1 format, each session is thoughtfully tailored to you. Subtle changes in positioning or equipment can significantly alter how a movement is experienced, allowing each session to meet you where you are. Private sessions offer space to move with focus, build strength with ease, and develop a Pilates practice that supports you well beyond the studio.
About the work
Before your first session, you’ll be invited to complete a brief intake form, sharing your goals, relevant medical history, and anything else that you want to share. This allows Rasheeda to arrive at your first session with a clear understanding of you and your needs.
In the studio, your initial session will begin with a gentle movement assessment, offering insight into how your body moves and where it benefits most from support and challenge. This forms the foundation for a programme designed specifically for you.
Sessions are 55 minutes and include a carefully considered range of movements designed to support whole-body integration. That means that each session works through all areas of the body and explores movement in multiple directions, building strength, mobility, balance and coordination that translate into everyday life.
Reformer Pilates also creates a sense of openness and flow. Many clients experience the work as subtly restorative, with movements and the breath supporting a freer circulation of energy throughout the body, leaving a familiar post-Pilates sense of calm and clarity.
As your practice evolves, the assessment process is revisited periodically, allowing progress to be observed and celebrated.
Change happens through movement and movement heals.
